It's the doing that counts...

We mustn't suppress or ignore how we feel. However, we must try not to follow those thoughts and habitual feelings down the rabbit hole. When we experience a negative thought or feeling and we can sense it starting to gain control of us, 'find something else to do'.

This does take self-awareness but the more you try, the more you will notice and be able to 'Do' something. Go for a walk, do a jigsaw or crossword puzzle, phone a friend or put some music on and dance.
