I have come to realise that in order to be happy I must accept that some of Life is out of my control, whereas other situations and circumstances are within my influence.
For what it's worth, I do believe there is a force much bigger than little ol' me at work here... we can call it God, Spirit, Universal energy, Cosmic Intelligence or even the great Mystery. It is older than all of us, bigger and more complex than all of us and also difficult to comprehend. But then do we need to understand it? Or merely accept that this greater force brings good and bad and our happiness depends more on how we respond to everything daily and accepting that all events happen for a reason.
