My Approach

People who seek out my help and support do so for a number of reasons. Due to the loss of a loved one, break-up of a long term relationship, stress of work or home life and also as a result of an illness or traumatic experience, which may affect a person mentally and / or physically.

For me, it is essential to gain an understanding of the whole person, situation and events leading up to where they find themselves now.

​

Adopting a pluralistic, person centred approach to how I support all clients. I use a number of therapeutic modalities including; Mindfulness, Somatic Body-based Psychology, Clinical Hypnotherapy, EMDR Trauma Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy coupled with a willingness to support and a flexibility in how sessions take place, encouraging openness, trust and an ability to succeed in finding the right solution to allow a person to live a peaceful Life.

Initially, a fact finding and scoping session needs to take place and this can occur face to face, via platforms such as Zoom or Whatsapp or over the telephone. This session is key to gaining an understanding of the history as well as enabling the individual or family to begin to focus on the 'Why' of therapy and what they hope to achieve by the end of the single or group sessions.

The frequency of sessions and how and where they intend to take place can also be discussed and agreed. 

​

An agreement or 'commitment' can then be established in relation to the achievable goals and outcomes and how both parties will behave throughout.

About Me

My approach to the work I do with my clients is based on person centred care and a heartfelt wish to see everyone well and happy in themselves and their lives.

​

I use mindfulness Somatic Body-based Psychology and techniques such as Cognitive Behaviourial Therapy, a background in Buddhism and energy healing, in conjunction with my own life experience and qualifications as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Success Coach.

​

This approach allows me to work within a number of fields supporting people who suffer with anxiety, depression and bereavement, in addition to their personal challenges around self-esteem, anger management and relationship issues.

​

I hold a qualification in family therapy, working with the family as a whole to resolve behavioural and emotional challenges.
